[ Casey exhales a foggy cloud of vapor. Once or twice, when he'd been really small, he did consider what it might be like to be the alpha of his own pack, how it would feel to be the one who could make decisions and be heard and not controlled. He wondered what it might be like to be in a pack that wasn't what he was used to; he wondered if it might be better.
And then he decided that he didn't want that kind of responsibility at all. It was easier to pretend that kind of power struggle didn't really exist. ]

Yes. [ Nodding gravely, she looks at her brother before wrapping her arms around herself.] And Dad warned me too. He said young wolves are disappearing. I thought he was just being overprotective but... I've been hearing that here too.
Case-- [ she says his name firmly so he'll focus.] I don't know what happens to them. I've only heard rumors which is why, yeah, I think we should be careful, even here.
[ And focus he does, eyes lifting to meet hers. Casey's not high enough (yet) that he can't concentrate on what she's saying, which only makes it all a little scarier.
Okay, [ she offers him a smile before take a hit of the vape before tucking it back in her pocket. A vape hit is stronger so it should hit them soon enough. It's then she reaches into her other one and pulls out another vape, covered in his favorite superhero's logo and offering it to him.] This is for you. I'm not giving you any weed so you're forced to come hang out with me still.
[ Case grins, mostly down towards his shoes, but it's pretty obvious that the sentiment means a lot to him.
When things got shitty back home, and man they could get shitty, he always knew Charlie would be there to back him up. She understood him in a way literally no one else did. As a wolf and a person. That kind of trust isn't easy to break, and it's not something to take lightly either.
He never really understood that until they arrived here. ]
