Not that he's entirely aware of the fact that he is - or did - ignoring anything at all, but it's easy to do when he thinks of himself as more boy than wolf.
And avoiding any family but his sister also seemed like a smart idea.

Once or twice, when he'd been really small, he did consider what it might be like to be the alpha of his own pack, how it would feel to be the one who could make decisions and be heard and not controlled. He wondered what it might be like to be in a pack that wasn't what he was used to; he wondered if it might be better.
And then he decided that he didn't want that kind of responsibility at all. It was easier to pretend that kind of power struggle didn't really exist. ]

[ And focus he does, eyes lifting to meet hers. Casey's not high enough (yet) that he can't concentrate on what she's saying, which only makes it all a little scarier.
Okay, [ she offers him a smile before take a hit of the vape before tucking it back in her pocket. A vape hit is stronger so it should hit them soon enough. It's then she reaches into her other one and pulls out another vape, covered in his favorite superhero's logo and offering it to him.] This is for you. I'm not giving you any weed so you're forced to come hang out with me still.
